HydroSenSoft, International Symposium and Exhibition of Hydro-Environmental Sensors and Software brought together in its last edition researchers and developers interested in instrumentation, sensors and software for the hydro-environmental sector, for the acquisition, analysis and use of data for a better understanding of the water-related environment.

The 2019 edition of the HydroSenSoft Symposium and Exhibition was held at IFEMA MADRID from February 26th to March 1st and showed the latest advances from the R&D community and shared experiences from practical application. Additionally, the exhibition was held in parallel with other relevant trade fairs for the water industry.

The HydroSenSoft International Symposium and Exhibition was organized under the auspices of IAHR, International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research, through its Experimental Methods and Instrumentation Technical Committee, and in collaboration with IFEMA MADRID, the leading exhibition organizer in Spain.

Water challenge

After its first edition in Madrid in 2017, HydroSenSoft 2019 once again offered the opportunity to present the latest developments and trends in instrumentation, experimental methods and data analysis and management to meet water challenges in society. The main sector involved in the fair is that of sensors and hydro-environmental software for the collection, processing, analysis and exploitation of data. More specifically, the sectors of software tools, new techniques and instruments for the collection, processing and interpretation of water-related data were present.

As far as the symposium is concerned, while the international symposium had a clear scientific character, the conferences in Spanish had a pragmatic orientation, addressing practical aspects to different specialists and users.

Participating companies

HydroSenSoft had the participation of three representative companies of the sector:

  • ALAVA INGENIEROS, S.A. Álava Ingenieros is a leading company in high technology solutions, founded in 1973. It carries out its activity within the sectors of science and technology transfer; specialised consultancy; measurement, regulation and control, analysis and quality; and software for simulation and analysis. Its Teledyne and Riegl brands were present at HydroSenSoft 2019.
  • INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR HYDRO-ENVIRONMENT ENGINEERING AND RESEARCH (IAHR). Founded in 1935, it is the world-wide organization of engineers and water specialists based on independent members who work in fields related to hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics.
  • KISTERS AG. Offers innovative modular software solutions, for the management of measurement information, enabling the acquisition, processing, analysis and publication of hydro-meteorological, environmental (water quality and ecology) and industrial process data related to water management. Its application responds perfectly to managers of basins, dams, sanitation networks or companies of its integral management.
