Arquitectura con Eñe

Architects from the national and international scene had an appointment in Madrid from 13 to 16 November 2018 in IFEMA MADRID to give rise to Arquitectura con Eñe, the largest event of architectural solutions for the entire construction cycle and a massive call for architectural studies whose purpose was to achieve maximum interaction and to provoke meetings between the architects and the exhibiting companies that had solutions aimed at the collective of architects.

This fair was held under the umbrella of ePower&Building, the largest commercial event in southern Europe that brings together the latest solutions for the entire building life cycle and which had 1,600 exhibitors, 80,000 professional visitors and the presence of 100 countries. Architecture with Eñe by IFEMA MADRID is the official program of all events, conferences, activities and content specifically aimed at the group of architects.

MEETING PLACE FOR ARCHITECTS

The most outstanding element of the fair was LAPLÃZA, a multipurpose, multifunctional and multidisciplinary space, located in the central area, between pavilions 5 and 6, in honour of the function of the squares as a meeting point, where all the architects gathered. Likewise, starting from this central area, small groups of professionals from the sector made routes through the different stands of the exhibiting companies participating in the "PIA" Routes (Points of Architectural Interest).

In addition, as a gallery, in the different pavilions of ePower&Building spaces were allocated to display products and solutions of the exhibiting companies, linking this space with the stand of the exhibiting company.

Opportunities and awards

During the fair, the II Architecture Awards were held with Eñe in collaboration with the Higher Council of the Colleges of Architects of Spain (CSCAE) and the Official College of Architects of Madrid, which were divided into the categories Veteco-Asefave Awards; the Arquitectura S+ Awards (sustainability and efficiency); the Luces de Arquitectura Awards (lighting and aluminium); and the Piedras de Arte Awards (use of stone).

On the other hand, and as a novelty, within all the content available in LAPLÃZA, the "59 minutes of Architecture Ideas" Competition was held, in which five teams of three or four architecture students each had to work for 59 minutes on a "surprise case" presented by a renowned architect, proposing innovative and creative ideas. At the end of this time, each team had to present and defend its project to the jury and the public in eight minutes.
