

The education community represented in the Organising Committee of the 2019 EDUCATION WEEK
Public agencies, organisations and associations make a commitment to Spain’s main education trade fair
Public agencies, organisations and associations met on the 21 November at the head office of the National School Council, under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, to hold the meeting of the Organising Committee for the sixth edition of the EDUCATION WEEK 2019, organised by IFEMA to be held from the 27 to the 31 March, at Feria de Madrid. In this meeting the organisation members declared their commitment to Spain’s main education Fair, which this time is held under the motto “Let’s write the future of education”, and again emphasises orientation for families, students and schools.
Promoted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the EDUCATION WEEK, through its organising Committee, has a high degree of institutional representation (Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities; Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with Parliament and Equality -Institute for Women and for Equal Opportunities; Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality- Institute of Youth /Injuve, and the Community of Madrid) and the rest of the educational community, represented by the Spanish Association of Private Education Centres, ACADE; the National Confederation of Student Associations, CANAE; the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Parents of Students, CEAPA; the Spanish Confederation of Education Centres, CECE; the Association of Private and Independent Schools, CICAE; the Confederation of Parents of Students, COFAPA; the National Catholic Confederation of Parents of Families and Parents of Students, CONCAPA; the CRUE - Spanish Universities General Directorate of Vocational Training; Catholic Schools; Promotion of Education Centres and the Foundation for Knowledge MADR D.
The Organising Committee’s meeting discussed the preparations for the EDUCATION WEEK, which is being very well received by the industry, and which will host the 27th International Educational Opportunities Fair, AULA; the 23rd International Educational Equipment Show and II Teaching Resources Congress, INTERDIDAC RED Congress; the 10th International Higher Education and Ongoing Training Fair; the 18th International Congress and Professional Fair EXPOELEARNING and the second SCHOOLS DAY “Families and Schools Day”.
Some of the highlights of the upcoming edition, which were discussed during the meeting, will be the Art and Coexistence area and the Competition Coexistence is not a story; the new STEAM section, aimed at awakening scientific vocations promoting science, technology, engineering, art-creativity and mathematics; the RED Congress, which this time focuses on the motto “With all the Sciences”; the commitment to Science and Innovation by the Foundation Madrid d. Attention will also be given to projects and activities that promote young graduates joining the workforce, and especially in the new economy sectors, such as green economics, and social entrepreneurship, in the OPEN CAMPUS youth Training and Employment area.
A new section is the Equality CLASSROOM, which will host activities and workshops designed by the Institute for Women and for Equal Opportunities, IMIO (Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with Parliament and Equality). Education Week wishes to contribute with this initiative to promoting equality of both sexes, facilitating the conditions for effective participation by women in culture, education and society, assuming the cross-sectional application of the principle of equal treatment and non-discrimination. 2019 will be the 35th anniversary of the IMIO.
