INTERVIEW WITH JUAN PASCUAL GIMÉNEZ, MARKETING DIRECTOR OF GIMÉNEZ GANGA, AN EXHIBITOR AT OFITEC 2011

GIMÉNEZ GANGA EXTENDS ITS RANGE OF PRODUCTS

1. - Tell us a little about GIMÉNEZ GANGA.

Giménez Ganga was founded more than fifty years ago and, although it originally focused on the manufacture of blinds, over time the company has diversified its production, extending its range of products significantly. This was how SAXUN was born five year ago, our brand devoted to the field of Interior Decoration and Sun Protection. We began with the manufacture of roll-up blinds, to which we gradually added Venetian blinds, vertical blinds, pleated blinds and sliding panels. In order to produce these items, we have endowed our facilities with the latest technology and machinery.

2. - What projects is your company currently working on?

This very year, we have opened up a new exhibition of Interior Decoration products at our facilities in Sax, Alicante, with a view to offering our clients the opportunity to present SAXUN to end consumers. The response has been immediate and we now have six clients who have inaugurated SAXUN Showrooms, located in Alicante, Madrid, Barcelona, Ciudad Real and Extremadura. Another nine projects are also underway. We are also studying all of the requests that are being submitted. In this respect, GIMÉNEZ GANGA offers all of its cooperation and support in order to help clients realise their projects.

3. - Does your company operate abroad?

Some 40% of our output is currently accounted for by exports. We reach more than 35 countries, based on an entire network of delegations, the majority of which are scattered throughout the European and American continents. We also have an Export Department that operates from our headquarters in Sax and, in this respect, we are constantly sending representatives to visit our clients across Europe, Latin America, North Africa, China and the Middle East, regions where our presence is growing.

4. - What benefits does your attendance at OFITEC 2011 have for your company?

For companies, taking part at the International Trade Exhibition of Office and Contract Furniture and Equipment, OFITEC, provides an opportunity to present new products and to reach new clients, both Spanish and foreign.

5.- What products and services will you be presenting at this edition of OFITEC?

This year we have extended our range of materials significantly, based on the latest trends dictated by changing fashions, for the different models that form part of the SAXUN family. In this respect, we now have 350 colours in our range of samples.

Furthermore, continuing with our policy of incorporating new products, we shall be presenting our new brand, Luxia, which consists of a series of easily inspected linings for ceilings made of shaped and modular aluminium, based on an extensive range of colours.

INTERVIEW WITH VICENTE BERBEGAL, PRESIDENT OF ACTIU GROUP, EXHIBITOR AT OFITEC 2011

1. - Could you briefly describe your company's activities?

Actiu is a company that specialises in the manufacture of furniture for working environments, based on an established presence in more than 50 countries. We create, design, produce and market equipment required in order to make offices and public areas more effective and comfortable, including products such as tables, chairs, filing cabinets, panels and all kinds of accessories. These products have arisen from our research into business needs and the ways in which individuals and companies interact.

2. - What projects are you currently carrying out or do you aim to carry out in the near future?

We provide consulting services and design and manufacture equipment that is required by companies, universities, airports, hospitals, auditoriums ..., etc. We create specific furnishings for each sector.

3. - How would you describe your company's export capacity?

Out of the company's overall turnover, the foreign sales generated by Actiu account for some 35% of the total figure. The rest of the company's turnover corresponds to the domestic market.

4. - Your company will be taking part at OFITEC 2011. What benefits can companies gain from their participation at a fair of this kind?

The advantages of taking part at OFITEC are numerous. First, we are able to secure a greater degree of visibility on the national and international markets, especially bearing in mind that the fair attracts a large number of foreign buyers. We might also highlight the opportunities that the fair provides when it comes to presenting new developments and the general products and services offered by each manufacturer. Another aspect to be taken into account consists of the fair's role as a forum for promoting the exchange of interests, opinions, concerns, etc., among manufacturers on the office furniture market, thus enabling them to strengthen their positioning and boost their business activities. The fair also targets various different groups of considerable importance to the industry, such as architects, designers, interior designers, engineers, facility managers, large accounts ..., etc. Finally, OFITEC provides an ideal opportunity to re-launch the industry, conveying a sense of commitment and fostering a strong and solid image vis-à-vis other sectors and markets.

5. - What are the most interesting new developments that your company will be presenting at the next edition of the International Trade Exhibition of Office and Contract Furniture and Equipment, OFITEC?

We shall be presenting our most important new developments under the headings of product, design and philosophy: new and specific items designed for segments as diverse as airports, libraries, universities, etc., not to mention new seating products and items for public areas. Furthermore, I would like to point out that all of our products are made through a sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing process.

INTERVIEW WITH IÑIGO RAMIREZ, THE HEAD OF AKABA, A COMPANY TAKING PART AT OFITEC 2011

1. - Could you briefly describe your company's activities?

AKABA develops, produces and markets medium-high range seating and tables for group concerns and offices, based on a strong design dimension.

2. - What projects are you currently carrying out or do you aim to carry out in the near future?

We are always planning and implementing projects for new products, as well as developing research projects and certain specific projects for special equipment. The tangible achievement we can mention at present consists of the development of a "high stackability" seating system known as ADOS by M. A. Ciganda, and an "elegant chair-armchair" made of injected aluminium, by Jorge Pensi.
