THE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF VISITORS AT CLIMATIZACIÓN 2011 STRENGTHENS THE FAIR'S TRADE APPEAL

The fair welcomed some 47,997 professionals, a 2.34% increase compared to the previous edition
The fair's international dimension also grew, based on the participation of some 4,343 professionals from 80 different countries
Both visitors and exhibitors confirmed the favourable results at CLIMATIZACIÓN 2011

The fourteenth edition of CLIMATIZACIÓN, the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration Exhibition, which took place at FERIA DE MADRID between 1st and 4th March, concluded with some favourable results. The strong level of business representation at the fair, based on the presence of 1,172 companies and a 2.34% increase in the number of professionals at the event (47,997 visitors in total), once again confirmed the capacity of this fair to serve as a grand meeting forum for the air-conditioning industry in Spain and one of the leading events of its kind on the international scene.

The international dimension at this edition was also strengthened, based on the participation of some 4,343 professionals from 80 different countries, headed by Portugal, which accounted for 46% of the professionals from abroad, followed by Italy and France. It was precisely this strong level of representation on the part of the Portuguese industry, through the incorporation of APIRAC onto the Organising Committee at CLIMATIZACIÓN that constituted one of the most important new features at this edition. This measure represents a further step towards the consolidation of CLIMATIZACIÓN as the key point of reference for this industry on the Iberian market.

As far as Spanish participation at the fair is concerned, we might highlight the event's wide geographical scope, given that some 58.61% of the Spanish visitors attended the fair from outside Madrid, travelling to the event from all of the country's regions, especially from Catalonia, Andalusia, Castile-Leon and Valencia.

For their part, the conferences and activities that took place within the framework of FOROCLIMA - the forum for promoting know-how, training and the exchange of experiences among professionals from the industry - were also warmly welcomed by visitors to the fair. The topical nature of the questions that were addressed, as well as the high stature of the speakers, meant that the vast majority of the sessions were packed out, bringing together more than 2,700 professionals.

The first edition of the Air-Conditioning Applied Techniques Workshop (Taller TAC) was also very warmly welcomed, surpassingall expectations with the attendance of more than 3,000 professionals. This Workshop, which was organised by ASEFOSAM (The Association of Plumbing, Sanitation, Gas, Heating, Air-Conditioning, Electricity, Maintenance and Associated Businessmen of Madrid), in collaboration with the publishing group, El Instalador, effectively offered installers information and training regarding the most appropriate procedures when it comes to fitting installations of special interest.

General Satisfaction on the Part of Exhibiting Companies

In general, the companies taking part at CLIMATIZACIÓN 2011 rated the fair's result's very highly. In this respect, the large numbers of visitors and the high professional profile of these visitors were two of the most important aspects highlighted by exhibitors, whose expectations were surpassed on this occasion, especially bearing in mind the current economic climate. "We observed a large number of visitors of a high professional profile", declared sources at Danfoss. The representative of Hitecsa stated that "the profile of the visitors was more specialised and professional than in other years". Representatives at Junkers expressed similar opinions: "We are satisfied with the number of visitors and we found that the majority of the stands were full".  Sources at Panasonic stated the following: "We observed a larger number of visitors and we are satisfied with the considerable number of professionals who attended the fair. The press also showed considerable interest in our company, given that around 50 media representatives came to see us". For his part, the representative from Fagor highlighted that "our rating of the fair in general is favourable, especially with regard to the number of visitors. We were pleasantly surprised, given that, in spite of the current crisis situation, we witnessed an equal or higher level of attendance at the fair on some days compared to previous editions". According to Lennox, "participation was fantastic, based on the attendance of trade customers of considerable stature and know-how", whilst Pecomak declared that "the response from our customers was similar to that achieved in the year 2009. In general terms, we believe our participation at the fair was excellent".
