Over its three days, LIBER recorded 11,200 visitors, 14% up on the last such event held in Madrid
The LIBER International Book Fair closed its 35th year with a satisfactory commercial balance, as confirmed by the vast majority of participating publishers. During the three days over which the event was held, which was opened by the former Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, LIBER was confirmed as the main business platform of the book sector dedicated to Spanish language publishing, and one of the most important international sector events.
A few hours after it closed, LIBER had recorded around 11,200 visitors, representing an increase of 14% on the last such event held in Madrid in 2015.
On this occasion, 452 exhibitors exhibited their latest developments, with the prominent presence of Argentina as Guest Country of Honour, which has brought a comprehensive cultural programme to Madrid in addition to the participation of numerous authors and publishers.
All this has underlined the dynamism of the country’s culture and its literature in this growing publishing market.
