The Mayor's Office of Medellín, the Department of Antioquia and the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley, will be at the Fair

Colombia’s main institutions will be at the latest IFEMA event, TRAFIC Latin America, Smart Mobility, Sustainability & Innovation, organised in collaboration with Plaza Mayor Medellín, which will take place from 13 to 15 June 2019 in the Colombian city of Medellín. The Mayor's Office of Medellín, the Department of Antioquia and the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley have expressed their desire to participate at the event, thus expressing their commitment to sustainable mobility. In fact, a delegation from IFEMA recently visited Colombia to strengthen relations with different companies and institutions.

The fact that TRAFIC Latin America is held in Medellín, besides having the know-how of Plaza Mayor, has its purpose, as it is one of the most innovative cities in the world and the location of the Centre for the 4th Industrial Revolution of Latin America.

For its part, the Colombian government is firmly committed to electric mobility in order to improve air quality. The Colombian Administration will shortly receive a donation of around 20 million euros from the Nationally Adequate Mitigation Action (Nama) fund, made up of the governments of Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark and the European Union, which is intended to support low carbon and climate-resilient development projects that enable the development of clean technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With this initiative, according to the Minister for Transport of Colombia, Ángela M. Orozco, it is expected that by 2030 there will be approximately 600,000 electric vehicles on the roads throughout the country.

TRAFIC Latin America is another step in the internationalisation of the International Safe and Sustainable Mobility Exhibition, TRAFIC, which over the course of its fifteen editions has established itself as the benchmark for this industry in Spain, and which will hold its next edition from 8 to 11 October 2019, at Feria de Madrid.
