This project, developed by IFEMA for the international expansion of the franchise, offers two new scenarios to companies with an interest in exporting their business concept: International Franchise Show (IFS) of Seoul 2018 and The Global Franchise Market (TGFM) of Dubai

FRANCHISING BEYOND BORDERS, the project developed by IFEMA to promote the international expansion of Spanish franchises, expands its field of action in the Asian and Middle East markets, with the incorporation of two new scenarios to its already extensive selection of international franchise fairs.

It is the International Franchise Show (IFS) of Seoul 2018 (South Korea), and The Global Franchise Market (TGFM) of Dubai, two events    with wide representation of international brands and investors from all over the world, and, therefore, of great potential for this objective, which offer interesting opportunities for participation and promotion to the companies interested in exporting their business concept.

Specifically, the International Franchise Show (IFS) celebrates its 42nd edition, between the 18th and the 20th of October 2018, co-organized by COEX and Reed Exhibitions. The data of this event reveals that it is the largest franchise fair held in Korea, which is expected to be attended by more than 20,000 international visitors and in which 250 franchises will take part. South Korea is also a market with an annual growth of 6% in the franchise sector and an increase of 5.5% in establishments dedicated to this activity.

Another alternative is to participate in The Global Franchise Market (TGFM), on the 5th and 6th of December, in Dubai.  Organized by INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions, and with just three editions, TGFM already brings together 150 companies and more than 3,000 visitors from 78 countries, becoming the most complete fair in this field by bringing together franchisors, investors, master franchises, entrepreneurs and government institutions.
According to the report “La Franquicia Española en el Mundo 2018” ("The Spanish Franchise in the World 2018")prepared by the Spanish Association of Franchisors (AEF, for its initials in Spanish ), in the Asian continent Spanish franchises operate in 33 countries (23 in Asia and 10 in the Middle East), making a total of 2,754 local stores (12.2% of the total, 1,816 in Asia and 938 in the Middle East). In Asia, the main destinations of our networks are China (31 companies), South Korea (17) and the Philippines (15) , while in the Middle East area, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia stand out (both with 34 brands). , Qatar (28) and Kuwait (27).

The FRANCHISING BEYOND BORDERS project is based on a model that provides management, advice and support to companies that want to position their brands abroad by participating in a selection of trade fairs with significant potential to do this and which, together, make up a catalogue of alternatives and opportunities for participation.

This initiative has strong support for dissemination by the Association of Spanish Fairs (AFE, for its initials in Spanish), and also contemplates the realization of different communication and visibility actions in each of the selected events, with a special emphasis on reinforcing the image of the participating Spanish companies, and the EXPOFRANQUICIA fair, organized annually by IFEMA. The fact is that EXPOFRANQUICIA has become the leading event in our country, and one of the great references on a global scale in representation, qualification and professional events.
