The Fair will demonstrate the proposals and innovations of 120 top companies in bodywork, chassis, complete vehicles, services and accessories, in an exhibition covering 22,000 m2, 20% bigger than last time.
22% of firms are from abroad, with companies from Germany, France, Turkey, Italy, United Kingdom and Poland participating, among others.
The Minibus of the Year Awards, a broad mediapartners programme and a Historic Bus Exhibition add spice to this edition's content.
Organised by IFEMA, it will take place from 28 to 26 October 2014 in FERIA DE MADRID’s Pavilions 7 and 9.
FIAA 2017, International Bus and Minibus Fair, will be held from 23 to 26 May in Madrid in one of the sector's most comprehensive and representative editions. The Fair, which will concentrate the proposals and innovations of the major firms specialising in passenger road transport in IFEMA pavilions 7 and 9, promises to be a great success, with a marked increase both in participation and in proposals and activities.
Indeed, 120 top companies in bodywork, chassis, complete vehicles, services and accessories will be present and there will be a greater share of foreign firms, 22%, with companies from Germany, France, Turkey, Italy, United Kingdom and Poland participating, among others. The exhibition floor area has also increased this year, reaching 22.000m2, 20% larger than in the last edition.
This FIAA is also being held at a time when the Spanish market is showing a recovery and a newfound vitality. This is revealed by ASCABUS data referring to the growth in the bodywork sector in the last two years, with increases of over 22% in turnover, 15% in employment and 23% in production, with the registration of 3759 buses in 2016. This is reinforced by the social importance of the bus in Spain, with a capillary network that absorbs 50% of public transport passengers in our country.
FIAA also boasts the backing and involvement of the main associations that represent the sector's various segments, including ASCABUS, Spanish Association of Bus and Coach Bodybuilders; CONFEBUS, Bus Transport Federation; ANETRA, National Association of Coach Transport Entrepreneurs, and ATUC, Association of Collective urban Transport Management Companies.
Fostering FIAA's international projection
The holding of FIAA has also fostered the development of various actions aimed at increasing the international projection of the sector, the exhibitors and their innovations. These include, for the first time in Europe, the Minibus of the Year Award, organised by the prestigious Bus and Coach of the Year jury, which aims to acknowledge the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the minibus, microbus and midibus passenger transport segment. The winner will be announced on the first day of FIAA, and IFEMA will provide support in the execution of the tests done previously on the candidate vehicles.
FIAA also provides a stage with broad national and international coverage for the sector and for the companies participating in the Fair, through its ambitious Media Partners programme, organised for this Edition, which the top specialists worldwide have already confirmed they will be visiting.
As a complement to the commercial exhibition, visitors to FIAA 2017 can also enjoy other activities, such as the Historic City and Intercity Bus Exhibition, which will give an interesting look back at buses and how they have evolved over the years.
