The main topics on the table during the Committee's first meeting held in IFEMA on 21 November were the 20% rise in participation, the Show's internationalisation initiatives and its activity programme.
Present at the meeting were Rafaél Barbadillo, Chairman of CONFEBUS and of the FIAA Organisation Committee, together with representatives from various associations, manufacturers and users in the sector, and the top brands.
The next edition of FIAA will be taking place from 23 to 26 May 2017 in Halls 7 and 9 of IFEMA.
The Organisation Committee of the FIAA predicts a very positive outlook for the next edition of the International Bus and Coach Show (FIAA), which is set to take place from 23 to 26 May 2017.
The meeting was called by the Show's Management to be held on 21 November, and was attended by Rafaél Barbadillo, Chairman of CONFEBUS and of the FIAA Organisation Committee, as well as representatives from various associations, manufacturers and users in the sector, and the top brands. Overall, the attendants at the meeting were satisfied with the event's prospects, especially with regard to achieving the expected participation levels, which have grown by over 20%, and in terms of the surface area contracted, with over 20,000 m2 already booked in Halls 7 and 9 at IFEMA.
The Committee also discussed the change of dates for the next edition, which has been moved to May in order to separate it and make it stand out from other events in the sector, thus encouraging its internationalisation. Along this same line, the FIAA's Management informed attendants about an ambitious media-partner programme they will be putting into practice to make sure the sector's major specialised international media are there, which will ensure widespread dissemination of the event's content.
The FIAA Committee also promised to offer its full collaboration in organising different activities. Those activities include a classic vehicle exhibition, showing city and inter-city vehicles. The Committee will also be helping to organise the FIAA FORUM, the Show's busy activity programme, covering a variety of topics with a special focus on highlighting the value of road transport se+rvices: technological progress, new regulations, the buses of the future, sustainable transport and more.
