Guidelines for ARCOmadrid_ 2011
Following Carlos Urroz’s appointment as the new director of ARCOmadrid, this first meeting with the Spanish gallery representatives was chosen to present the project outlined for the upcoming edition of the art fair in which the number of galleries will be pared down and divided into two exhibition halls.
A new feature of the project is that the successive editions of the Solo Project section will be centred exclusively on Latin America. Another noteworthy introduction is that ARCOmadrid will also be lending a special focus to young galleries from emerging European countries for which it will set aside a separate space at the fair.
As far as the Experts Forum is concerned, the format will change to become a meeting place for museum, art centre and biennial directors, curators and galleries.

To commemorate the anniversary, the upcoming event is preparing a number of incentives and actions conceived to reinforce ARCOmadrid’s role and import.
