The leading congress in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) will land at IFEMA from 1st to 4th of September 2018, gathering more than 4,000 professionals from this specialty from around the world, including doctors, researchers, nurses, students and representatives of the industry. With the slogan "Nutrition without Borders", the event will explore new topics in clinical nutrition and spread knowledge and debate about the latest in science, in an informal environment generating new synergies and reinforcing those already existing.
ESPEN is the leading association in European clinical nutrition. The congress hopes to break attendance record in this 40th anniversary. Although ESPEN is a European association, the congress gathers delegates from around the world: nearly 100 countries will be represented to celebrate this long-awaited anniversary in Madrid.
Madrid, home of the congress. The congress has visited Spain three times: after the congresses in Barcelona (1987, 2012) and Madrid (2000), this will be the fourth occasion where Madrid will host this great nutritional meeting. The excellent hotel offer, the pleasant climate and the cuisine of the city are the ideal complements for this special edition.
Scientific and educational program. Working in close collaboration with the members of the ESPEN committee, an attractive program has been designed with the aim of improving nutritional care and education, thanks to prestigious conferences and symposia that will take place during the congress. Special highlights include the conferences of 'Cuthbertson' and 'Wretlind', the 'ESPEN Fellowships Symposium', the seven sessions of oral communications, and the 18 Scientific Symposia.
