There have been a total of 1.050 communications in what will be the largest scientific meeting held to date in Europe on the management of wounds.
IFEMA, Feria de Madrid, receives from 14 to 16 May, the Tenth National Symposium on Pressure Ulcers and Chronic Wounds (GNEAUPP) along with the 24th Conference of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) under the theme "Innovation, experience and technology in wound care."
With just two weeks to the start of this extraordinary International Congress on wound care, we have received a total of 1.050 submissions (328 in oral format and the rest in poster, paper or electronic).
There are invited 202 speakers who will participate in an extensive program of activities that will make this scientific event on wound management the largest of the held to date in Europe. Are scheduled 13 round tables, 8 conference rooms, 3 symposia EWMA-GNEAUPP, 20 workshops, 5 education sessions, 22 sessions of oral presentations and 18 industry symposia, for over three thousand health professionals from five continents and a total of 56 countries.
Thus, the EWMA-GNEAUPP Congress will approach everything that is being done in the world in the care of patients with wounds, enabling a significant improvement in the knowledge of professionals that is sure to result in the prevention of serious complications and alleviating the suffering of thousands of people worldwide.
On Tuesday, May 13, in the afternoon, will take place the registration of attendees of the conference and from 18:30 h the 20th anniversary celebration of the National Group on Pressure Ulcers and Chronic Wounds (GNEAUPP) will be held. On Wednesday, May 14, from 09:15 hours, the opening ceremony will take place, to continue a busy schedule of working sessions from 08:00 to 18:00. On Friday, May 16 will be the last day of this Congress and 15:00 h the closing ceremony and awards ceremony will be held.
The congress will have a duration of three days in which health professionals will have the opportunity to experience and meet colleagues, researchers and clinicians who are developing their work outside of Spain with the opportunity to attend and participate in relevant sessions led by key national and international speakers, not to mention the opportunity to meet the most representative sector providers and, through them, the latest innovations in materials developed for prevention and treatment for these injuries.
In this year 2014 both the EWMA-European Wound Management Association (www.ewma.org) - and the National GNEAUPP-Group for the Study and Consulting Pressure Ulcers and Chronic Wounds (www.gneaupp.org) celebrating its twentieth anniversary, are celebrating together theirs respectively, 24th national conference and X national symposium, held periodically to jointly give life to this Congress in Spain.
