The halls of Feria de Madrid will once again be decked for the new edition of Intergift, the International Gift and Decoration Fair, displaying an extraordinary selection of the latest trends in these sectors. The Fair, organised by IFEMA to take place from 20 to 24 September, allows sector professionals comprehensive insight into upcoming trends in decoration and thousands of innovative gift ideas, all thanks to 975 exhibitors and brands from 20 countries, 148 of which will be here for the first time.

This edition will be geared especially towards the world of residential and contract décor, with a strong focus on interior design, furniture and home accessories, as visitors will see in the sections devoted to Haute Décor - Halls 1 and 3; Décor - Hall 7; and Textiles - Hall 1.

Professionals visiting Intergift will also discover a vast showcase of new developments in youth and promotional gifts, toys, merchandising, stationery, party items and more, all of which will be featured in their own special sector called Regalomanía (Gift Mania) in Hall 5. In addition to the commercial side of the Fair, Intergift will be hosting a variety of  activities such as the Space under Construction area, and  presentations, talks and workshops at the Speakers’ Corner, with the participation of renowned interior designers, decorators, stylists and fashion influencers, among other professional groups.  They will offer visitors some of the  tools and templates to help them stay on top of the latest trends, consumer habits and other essential information for promoting their businesses.

Space under Construction by Esther Sánchez Lastra

For the third year running, Intergift will set the stage for the “Space under Construction” area, an initiative driven by the Spanish General Council of Official Schools of Decorators and Interior Designers (CGCODDI), in collaboration with Interiores magazine, to shine the spotlight on interior designers and decorators in order to highlight their profession and their creative ability. This time, the project is brought to us by the acclaimed interior designer Esther Sánchez Lastra, the founder of the ESL INTERIORISMO studio.

On the first day of the fair, Esther Sánchez Lastra will be selecting a range of decorative items, furniture and other elements from among those presented by the exhibiting companies at Intergift to decontextualise them and insert them in this Space, located at the entrance to Hall 3 in the form of a photocall. The finished effect will be presented on Thursday 21 September.

Speaker's Corner at Intergift

Intergift has also scheduled a variety of activities, workshops and presentations to be held at the Speaker's Corner.  This space was designed to offer professionals information and practical guidance that will allow them to discover some of the key tools for promoting their businesses. The activities of the Intergift Speaker's Corner, which will be located in Hall 7 of IFEMA, will be carried out in a very dynamic and participative format covering exciting new topics.  Given the significant presence of interior design at the Fair, this year's Corner will once again include different sessions on decoration such as the round tables on “Interior Design and Training” and “Interior Design and Communication”, organised by the Dolcevita magazine, and the workshop introducing the Moodboard as a Working Tool in Decoration, to be imparted by Belén López from the Antioquia Interiorismo studio.

The seminar will be held on Thursday 21 September in the GOYA Hall, located in the central avenue next to Hall 4.

Acknowledgements, Awards and After-Fair Event

For the second year running, Intergift will be rewarding the loyalty of the professionals who keep coming back to this major trade fair by showing special acknowledgement for the professional history of some of Spain's most emblematic establishments.  This time, the winning firm is Rosa García Decoración, specialising in decoration and interior design projects since 1971. It is a family business made up of 20 professionals and which currently has three establishments. The first opened in Tudela (Navarre), followed by another in Calahorra (La Rioja) and one in Zaragoza.

The award ceremony will take place during the After-Fair celebration, on Friday 22 September at 8 pm, which will also be when the “Gift of the Year” Contest Award Ceremony takes place, organised by the REGALO FAMA Association, which this year has recognised the work of MULTIOCIO EVOE in the Candles and Fragrances category; AMADEUS LES PETITS in the Souvenir category; MIQUELRIUS in the Casual Gift category; FISURA in the Christmas Gift category; DOIY in the Decorative Items category; and Pablo Fuster in the Kitchen Accessories category.

To complete the After-Fair activity programme, there will be a presentation by Tamara Nieto (@lacasitademara), who won the “Battle of the Bloggers” contest that was held over social networks during the last edition of the Fair in February, making her the official blogger for this edition of Intergift.    This passionate interior design blogger from Cádiz in the south of Spain discovered the world of decoration aged 20 as she scoured specialised magazines in search of inspiration and spent hours on DIY to decorate her first house.  Encouraged by her findings on déco blogs, she decided to create her own Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/lacasitademara) showing pictures of her favourite corners of the house and her magnificent breakfast tables every weekend, where she is constantly changing the decoration, much to the delight of her 15,000+ followers.

Two more fairs will be held at the same time as Intergift: Bisutex, the International Jewellery and Accessories Fair, and MadridJoya, the International Fair for Urban and Trendy Jewellery and Watches. Altogether, these three fairs are an unmissable melting pot for trends, fashion and consumer goods, gathering over 1,500 companies and brands and expecting to welcome roughly 40,000 professionals from Spain and all over the world. This time, there will be a fourth Fair taking place: Momad Shoes, involving 200 companies and representing more than 250 brands.
