ARCOmadrid fosters business patronage

Right from the beginning, one of ARCOmadrid’s objectives has been to foster collecting, the promotion of artists and to facilitate contacts that help inject dynamism into purchases at the Fair. According to the Report on the Spanish art market, by Clare McAndrew for the Fundación Arte y Mecenazgo two years ago, the impact of ARCOmadrid on Spain’s art market represents 60% of the total sales generated in art fairs in the country, bearing in mind that 33% of the sector’s overall sales are made at fairs.

In addition to the acquisitions made at the Fair each year by collectors, professionals, enthusiasts, institutions, museums and foundations, there are also other initiatives put forward by ARCOmadrid to drive purchases and foster recognition of artistic creation.

On the occasion of ARCO, national and international private companies put their best efforts into supporting contemporary art through various awards.
