    For the first time, two national trade fair operators, IFEMA and Feria Valencia, come together in a common project to jointly organise two of the leading fairs in the children’s fashion and baby care industries. The two events are FIMI, for children’s fashion which Feria Valencia already holds in Madrid, and Puericultura Madrid, IFEMA’s own brand dedicated to childhood products.

    · According to a study by consulting firm KPMG, the main sectors to benefit are hospitality and commerce, with a boost of 1.348 billion euros and 10,305 jobs, and transport, which comes away with 694 million and 5,323 jobs

    · Each international exhibitor leaves 72,579 euros in Madrid, while each foreign visitor leaves 2,468 euros. In the case of Spanish nationals, these figures come in at 60,239 and 572 euros, respectively

    · 2018 will mark a record level of activity: for the first time the threshold of 100 fairs and 600 congresses, conventions and professional and leisure events will be exceeded

    · This summer alone, IFEMA allocated 12 million euros to investments in infrastructure, digitalisation and security to reinforce both its positioning and the pulling power of the Madrid economy

    • A new state-of-the-art barrier system will control the access of more than 700,000 vehicles, including trucks and goods delivery vehicles.
    • Feria de Madrid will also have a new public address system that will ensure effective communications in emergencies, in any circumstances.
    • For both systems, IFEMA has allocated €5 million as part of the 5-year global investment plan with an expected budget of €100 million to improve infrastructures, communications, digitalisation and security.

    · The new WIFI system allows up to 64,000 simultaneous connections at present, and will allow up to 100,000 in the future, figures equivalent to double the maximum number of simultaneous users who attend events such as the Mobile World Congress

    · The project to revamp the entire WIFI connection infrastructure has involved an investment of €3.4 million, and will allow free access to this network to visitors to the fairs organised by IFEMA

    · It is a state-of-the-art facility prepared for high user densities supported by more than 1,100 access points and 2,000 state-of-the-art antennas, covering the entire 230,000 m2 surface area

    Coinciding with the celebration of National Sign Language Day in Spain, it opens its information service to visitors with hearing impairments.

    Through the technology of the interpreters’ platform Comunicados en Lengua de Signos, IFEMA has taken a step forward in its social objective aimed at eliminating communication barriers and facilitating the inclusion of deaf people.
