IFEMA consolidates its commitment to big musical and cultural events

· The hosting of the Rio Babel Festival and We Magic Planet in July confirms the potential of IFEMA and its facilities to hold mass events.

· The development of this new activity line has brought about the creation of a commercial department specialising in the management of high-attendance events within the organisational structure of IFEMA.

· The capacity and versatility of its facilities together with easy access and parking make Feria de Madrid a top choice of venue for concert and festival promoters.

The opening of the IFEMA complex for major public events is being especially welcomed for its ease of access and parking, and for the characteristics of its facilities which allow it to accommodate a large number of visitors, making it today one of Madrid's most perfect venues.

In July, IFEMA will see the arrival of two musical events at the top of Madrid's summer programme: the second edition of the Rio Babel Festival, and the start of We Magic Planet.  This programme represents another step forward in IFEMA's commitment to diversifying its activities, and has led to the creation of a new commercial department specialising in the management and technical coordination of musical and cultural events within its organisational structure.

The facilities, both internal and external, at Feria de Madrid make it a preferred site to hold this type of event - a fact that was confirmed last summer when 25,000 people attended the Río Babel festival. The close proximity to the “Feria de Madrid” Metro station, linked to all points of the city, and ample parking at the complex with 14,000 places, allow for quick and convenient access to the facilities, making IFEMA one of the leading venues for event planners and musical promoters.

Río Babel Festival 2018, joining music and cultures

The second edition of Río Babel arrives at IFEMA on 6 and 7 July with a line-up that brings together the cream of today's Spanish and Latin American scene, with performances from Nathy Peluso, Bumbury, Juanito Makandé, Crystal Fighters, Bebe and The Cat Empire.

This festival, born last year with the idea of uniting Spanish and Latin American culture through music, will alternate concerts on two stages, and will also include a leisure area and food trucks in the middle. The festival expects to reach an attendance figure of 30,000 at its second edition.

We Magic Planet, the Gay Pride music festival

We Magic Planet will be the grand finale of the Madrid Gay Pride celebrations. Next Saturday 7 July, Hall 6 will host this important event where a veritable spectacle of today's best electronic music can be enjoyed, with DJs like Abel, Óscar Velázquez and Neo Scott.

From 23:00 until 7 in the morning, those attending will be buzzing to the music, as well as a light show, 380 square metres of LED screens, 40 go-go dancers and the most spectacular stage set.
