The DtheBrand firm has won the first edition of the contest "Fashion, Sustainability and Business", run within the framework of Momad, Fashion in Madrid. This show, organised by IFEMA and considered the largest fashion and trends trade forum in the Iberian Peninsula, was held from 8 to 10 February at Feria de Madrid.

The jury of this contest, who have just announced their decision, awarded the prize to DtheBrand taking into account the design of the collection presented in Momad; how and where it is produced; the raw materials used in the garments and articles; social responsibility applied to production, and the brand image and product as a whole.

The award consists of a free stand in the sustainable fashion area, Sustainable Experience, at the next edition of the Event.

The finalists of the contest were the footwear firm Suela Shoes, which came second, and the jewellers Nehcaa Jewerly, which came third.

The jury for these awards was made up of Fernando Cardona, of the firm Jeanología; Blanca Gómara, of B2 Fabric; Aglaia Gómez, senior consultant at Cradel to Cradel; Ignasi Eiriz, of Ethical Time; Marisa Fatas, of Vein Magazine and Kalon Madrid; Belvis Soler, of Luxiders Magazine; and Laura Hortal, of Wild Geese.

The award will be presented by Charo Izquierdo, director of Momad, at the 8th Slow Fashion Next Sustainable Fashion Conference, to be held at the Museo del Traje in Madrid on 5 and 6 April.

DtheBrand, a style with conscience

DtheBrand makes garments in a responsible way "for human beings, for free people who like design, who aren’t too bothered about the traditional concept of men's and women's fashion," the firm said.  Sustainability is one of the cornerstones of the brand, which seeks to connect with socially committed customers through responsible consumption. They produce in Spanish factories, to achieve a top-quality product and also contribute to the conservation and creation of jobs in the Spanish textile sector, as explained by the firm. They produce Prêt-à-porter as if it were haute couture: their obsession is taking care of every detail. DtheBrand opts for sustainable fabrics, certified with Oeko-tex Standard 100 and GOTS quality seals, and each of the products has a low production run, so as to maintain exclusivity and minimise waste.

For Sabina Deus Muñoz, creative director of DtheBrand, "the DtheBrand style is like an extension of myself: minimalist, perfectionist and, above all, with a conscience"
