Trade visitors to the fair will have free admission to these sessions, which form part of the 20th International Congress of Optometry, Contactology and Ophthalmic Optics, OPTOM 2012

Business OPTOM, which takes place between 17 and 19 February, and therefore coincides with the fair, will explain the keys to developing eye health establishments

Visitors to EXPOOPTICA, which takes place in the North Convention Centre at the IFEMA trade fair site from 17 to 19 February, will have a chance to discover the latest trends and products in the sector and also attend the talks at Business OPTOM for free. These training sessions are designed to give trade professionals the keys to developing their business and achieving results. They will be held in rooms N111 and N112 and form part of the programme for the 20th International Congress of Optometry, Contactology and Ophthalmic Optics, OPTOM 2012 (registration and information at www.optomcongreso.com) which coincides with EXPOOPTICA.

María Julieta Balart Gritti, a specialist in business management, consulting and training managers, will give a talk at 4 pm on 17 February on How to tackle crises by applying common sense. She will explain how to solve conflicts and take the right decisions, so that factors like heavy work demands, stress and a lack of time do not have a negative impact on business decisions and actions.

The session on 18 February, also at 4 pm, will be run by Jaime Pereira García, an expert in human resources who collaborates with the Instituto de Liderazgo [Leadership Institute] and is the managing director of Trazo Creativos. In his talk he will demonstrate the secrets behind applying Elegant Leadership to company organisation. This is a style of leadership based on the DAC formula: Management of goals; Alignment of staff and resources towards those goals; Commitment that inspires trust. An approach that favours motivation and communication, among other factors.

In the final talk on Sunday 19 February, this time at 2 pm, Jesús Ferradás González, consultant and trainer at Esic-Executive Education and chairman of Optimer System, will explain the Keys and Trends in Optics Management in the 21st Century. He will address the factors that can help achieve good results, such as a study of the business environment and market trends or emphasising those distinguishing features that can position companies ahead of their competitors. At the same time the talk will explore concepts like cross-selling and upselling, selling products and services with a higher value.

The interest and topicality of the topics that Business OPTOM will examine gives an added value to the extensive range of products that will be on display at EXPOOPTICA, where sector professionals will discover the most innovative optical instruments together with the latest fashion trends in frames and advances in lenses.
