EXPOOPTICA 2012 exhibitors will not miss the opportunity to show their latest ideas to a highly qualified public like that brought together by the fair, which coincides with the International Optometry, Contactology and Ophthalmic Optics Congress, OPTOM 2012. These include companies that specialise in clinical equipment like TOPCON who, from among their broad range of eyecare products, are going to show the KR-1, an auto Kerato-Refractometer with a touch screen that can be adjusted to any position, and OPTISER, who will be explaining the benefits the Reichert 7 Tonometer can offer sector professionals. According to the company, this is “the only totally automatic” tonometer available. Among their products RECOLETOS BAJA VISIÓN have the CCTV Jazz, an electronic magnifying glass for reading that offers people with poor eyesight or whose work requires visual precision a clear and intuitive image. And, for measuring ocular tension and relating it to corneal biomechanics, LEP will be showing their Reichert CR7 tonometer, “which can measure the real IOPcc of patients with pathological corneas and Keratoconus who have had refractive surgery”, according to company representatives.

There is no doubt that fashion will have a prominent place with the presentation of collections like that of the French designer Oko Eyewear, distributed and exhibited at EXPOOPTICA 2012 by PERLASOL. Among their various lines Oko by Oko Paris include innovative ophthalmic frames, with designs characterised by their originality and which tend towards a retro or vintage style. The PERLASOL selection also includes a children's range: the Kidoko collection and the Moko Spectacles range, made exclusively from surgical steel and characterised by their minimalist line and exclusive style.

Models for every profile

VISTAMAX, with brands like Purificación García, Custo Barcelona and McLaren, among others, demonstrate they have a large range of options for every kind of customer, from those looking for a more distinguished style to those after a more sporty look. Purificación García is distinguished by its balance and natural look, characteristics that follow the trend set by the brand's line in accessories. For its part the Custo Dolman line has the originality of all the designer's creations with its striking colours and superimposed materials, while the McLaren range opts for very attractive sports models.

VISIBILIA has a line of eyewear specially designed for women by Kaori, a brand that seeks to stand out for its discretion, design and quality, without stealing the limelight from the face wearing them. YODEL also has women in mind, younger women aged 12 to 25, with the No Martha, no party range they are bringing to EXPOPTICA. This is a collection of striking designs and colours made from light, comfortable materials. The company has also created Gustav Müller for an older age group that incorporates new ideas like carbon fibre, titanium and steel glasses.

The LIFE LOFT models are similarly characterised by a combination of innovation and design, in response to market demand. The range includes a wide variety for men and exclusive, fun, modern designs for women of all ages.

COPLUSVISIÓN are going to show their three lines: Blanca (White), basic glasses at affordable prices, Verde (Green), commercial frames offering value for money, and Oro (Gold), influenced by the latest trends.

The T.Cook by CREASOL collection, meanwhile, offers some new varifocal models and sunglasses, as well as incorporating two new accessories that you will also be able to discover at EXPOOPTICA: Clip-on and Sun Cover, which add sun protection to traditional frames.

Other firms, such as GRUPO CIONE, will take advantage of the fair to present initiatives like Vision&coDesign, an e-commerce programme which allows customers to customise their frames and create their own designs online. For them the www.personalizatugafa.com website has over 19,000 possible combinations of shapes and colours.

Lenses, the essential element

Obviously EXPOOPTICA will not be without the latest breakthroughs in contact lenses, for example, the new designs from MENICON, a firm that specialises in contact lenses and strives to develop models that adapt, as much as possible, to every visual defect and the particular characteristics of every eye to achieve healthy, comfortable eyesight. SERVILENS, meanwhile, will be showing their white toric lenses, with their improved stabilisation and reproducibility. Moreover the company markets some alternative lenses to change eye colour, irrespective of the patient's eyesight. And they will be offering sector professionals who visit EXPOOPTICA the chance to learn about a software application that takes online orders and automatically places an order for the lenses.
