The fair will once again present the IDEASLAB Area, a section designed to focus on the trade and its professionals

At this edition, the fair will take place from Friday to Sunday

MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL, the International Footwear and Leather Goods Trade Fair, an event organised by IFEMA, will bring together some 700 brands at its next edition to be staged between 24th and 26th September at Feria de Madrid. These participation figures confirm the growth trend that the fair has enjoyed over its last few editions.

This favourable development is reflected in the sections known as ESPACIO GLAM and GLAMOUR, which bring together the high-segment brands. Together these sections present a 40% increase in their number of exhibitors compared to March 2009.

At the forthcoming edition of the fair, where the participating brands will present their collections for Spring-Summer 2011, MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL will occupy Halls 8 and 10 at Feria de Madrid. These two halls together present a gross exhibition area measuring some 40,000 square metres. Hall 10 will bring together all the footwear collections for Spring-Summer 2011, organised around the following sections: METRO, STREET & CASUAL and NIÑO. It will also present a series of leather goods and leather accessory collections. The sections known as CHIC and GLAMOUR will be presented in Hall 8, bringing together the most elegant and cutting-edge trends in footwear fashion.

Coinciding with the trade exhibition itself, MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL will also host the staging of a wide-ranging Activities Programme. Among other initiatives, we might highlight IDEASLAB, the area that the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation (FICE) organises at each edition in order to boost innovation and creativity within the footwear industry, as well as presenting the latest new features regarding technological developments, trends, design, sales techniques and visual merchandising. This project, which is organised within the framework of the "Shoes from Spain" Campaign, enjoys the support of the Institute for Valencian Small and Medium-Sized Industry (IMPIVA), through the auspices of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State Company for Development of Design and Innovation (ddi), which is attached to the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. This initiative also features the collaboration of the Technological Institute for Footwear and Related Industries (INESCOP) and IFEMA.

The choice of dates on which the fair is due to take place, namely between Friday and Sunday, will favour the attendance of trade buyers, both from Madrid and from other regions. These visitors will undoubtedly find it easier to travel to the event on a weekend.

Furthermore, IFEMA has strengthened its promotional campaigns in order to attract buyers, help boosting exports and ensure the attendance of a number of highly-qualified professionals of interest to members of the industry. An International Guest Programme has also been organised for professionals from the Middle East, which at this edition will complement the traditional Programmes for Eastern Europe, not to mention the Foreign Press Programme that MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL has organised for a number of years now in collaboration with the Spanish Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX), which attracts some twenty journalists to the fair from different countries around the world.

Throughout the course of the fair, MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL will remain open from 9.30 a.m. through to 7.00 p.m., except for the last day of the event, when the fair will at 5.30 p.m.
